Jazz at Congo Square Festival

To help create opportunities for New Orleans musicians, artists, and businesses, Delfeayo Marsalis created the Jazz at Congo Square Festival in August 2021.  In August 2022, this successful venture featured Mr. Marsalis and the Uptown Jazz Orchestra, Doreen Ketchens, the Brass-A-holics Brass Band, Tonya Boyd-Cannon, Corey Henry, the Congo Square Drummers, African dancers (adult and children), Uptown Music Theatre students, poets, and food and merchandise vendors all in the historic Congo Square in New Orleans. The festival attracted over 600 people of all ages, races, and income levels from the Greater New Orleans area, Southeastern Louisiana, and Southern Mississippi, and it also brought tourists from other states and countries to Congo Square.
